What are puff DTF transfers?

A puff DTF transfer is a DTF print that rises when you heat press it, leaving a soft, raised 3D texture on the garment. It gives you the look of puff print without screens or setup, and it presses on with a heat press like our standard transfers.

How to order puff DTF transfers

  1. Send us your design through our contact form, along with the sizes and quantities you need.
  2. We'll confirm the details and let you know how your design will look in puff.
  3. We print it in-house in Los Angeles. Puff DTF orders take 3 to 5 business days.

Puff DTF is its own order. It can't share a gang sheet with standard DTF designs. For standard transfers, use our gang sheet builder or order by size.

Best designs for puff DTF

  • Logos and wordmarks. Raised letters are what puff is known for.
  • Bold text. Short phrases and brand names read clearly with depth.
  • Simple icons and shapes with solid filled areas.
  • Keep lines thick. Very thin lines and tiny text can lose definition. Bold, thick lines give the best result.

What garments work with puff DTF?

Puff DTF presses onto cotton, polyester, blends, and fleece, on light or dark garments. It also works great on hats.

How to press puff DTF transfers

  1. Pre-press the garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  2. Place the transfer and press at 300°F with high pressure for 10 seconds.
  3. Peel the film right away in one smooth, low-angle pull.
  4. Post-press for 5 seconds through parchment paper or a Teflon sheet.

Care instructions

  • Wait at least 24 hours after pressing before the first wash.
  • Turn the garment inside out.
  • Machine wash cold or warm with mild detergent. No bleach.
  • Tumble dry low or hang dry.
  • Never iron directly on the print.
